TRADITIONAL GRADE II LISTED COTTAGE

This was a Grade II listed building of traditional cob and thatch construction which not only required complete refurbishment – undoing a great deal of previous work which had been undertaken using inappropriate materials, but also offered the opportunity to extend the accommodation into the attic space. The property is part of a rental portfolio so the specification needed careful consideration, ensuring that it was robust, but within a tight budget.

Woodforde Scott oversaw this project from inception to delivery, working with the client to establish suitable alterations, then assisting with the listed building application, developing a schedule of works and specification, and overseeing the tender process before overseeing the construction using suitable traditional materials, and ensuring delivery of the completed property on time and under budget.
