FARM HOUSE AND BARN WITH BATS

This project involved the full refurbishment and renovation of a traditionally built farmhouse, previously untouched for many years. The reconfiguration of the property included extending the accommodation into the adjacent barn which also housed one of the country’s most important bat roosts.

Woodforde Scott had full project management responsibilities, working closely with the architect to push through the planning application, as well as ecologists to ensure the relevant bat licenses were obtained. We then oversaw the tender process. A significant value engineering exercise was undertaken, making significant savings while still achieving the end result the clients wanted, before overseeing the construction process.
